Chocolate-flavored martinis have been hot for a few years. Now, Ghirardelli Chocolate has its Ghirardelli Squartini. The drink, whose name is an ode to the company's historic Ghirardelli Square home, was introduced during the recent Chocolate Festival in its hometown of San Francisco.

Seafood lovers will want to head over to East County this weekend for the Pittsburg Seafood Festival. This year's theme is "Land, Sea & Air," and features more than 40 vendors, live music, celebrity chefs, art and crafts, kids' activities, powerboat races, an air show and more. And did we mention seafood, lots of seafood, from more than 40 restaurants.

The Utah State Fair is Sept. 7-17 at the Utah State Fairpark, 155 N. 1000 West, Salt Lake City. Hours are 3 to 10 p.m. on opening day; Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sundays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for youth and seniors, and free for children 5 and under. Parking is $5 at surrounding Fairpark lots.
