Hans Christian Oersted    1777 - 1851

L'esperimento di Oerrsted

The Alessandro Volta electric battery which would produce a steady flow of direct current stimulated research in electricity to an unprecedented degree.
In july 1820 Hans Cristian Oersted of the University of Copenaghen in Denmark announced his discovery in a pamphlet in latin: an electric current deflects a magnetic compass needle, thus magnetism and electricity weren't completely separate.
This touched off a new era of discovery.
Oersted in september 1820 went to Paris to present his work at the Institut de France.
Among the audience there was Andrè Marie Ampere.
In 1825 H.C.Oersted isolated aluminum by using electric currents.
