OZRIC TENTACLES: The clouds disperse

Ozrics in their 1992-94 lineup: ED WYNNE (guitars, synths), JOIE HINTON (synths, samples), JOHN EGAN (flutes, voice), ZIA GEELANI (bass), MERV PEPLER (drums, percussion).

Left: Synth player Joie Hinton, former member now in "Eat Static" with ex-Ozric drummer Merv Pepler. He also played with Ed (and Merv) in a kraut-rock style Ozrics offshoot called "Nodens Ictus"; Right: A picture from Melody Maker, from left to right Ed, John and Zia.

Some promotional shots of the 1994-2000 lineup: SEAWEED and RAD replace JOIE and MERV (who decided to devote their efforts entirely to Eat Static) on synth and drums respectively. Bottom Right: Joie and Merv (Eat Static): they are often joined by the 3rd "invisible member" Steve Everett (ex-Ozrics synth player himself!).

Wolverhampton show: Left: Jumping Jon in wintry outfit!; Right: Ed, John and Rad behind his drumkit.

The band on stage in 1997, in full lightshow (provided by Fruit Salad) splendour!

Left: The band on stage in Wimbledon (2000, Hidden Step tour); Right: Jumping John Egan with his flute.

Ed Wynne (the only founder member still in the band) on electric guitar (he plays synths too). Ed is responsible for a good share of Ozrics compositions.

Synth-wizard Seaweed is busy all the time with his keys and his knobs! He came from the band "Damidge" (in which Ed's brother and former Ozrics bass player Roly was playing too) along with Rad in late 1994.

Left: Zia Geelani on bass. He made his first appearance on record on "Live Underslunky", recorded in 1991; Right: John dancing!

Left: Conrad "Rad" Prince on his drumkit (hand-made in Italy): he left the band after the American tour of 2000 and was replaced by ex-Rhythmites drummer Schoo; Right: John playing a 'bansuri' and Ed on his 'Ibanez Artist' guitar.

Left: Zia and Seaweed in multicolour environment; Right: Multitalented Ed shows his synth skills.

Left: John plays one of his eastern wooden flutes; Right: Seaweed and his keyboards rack, Zia in the background.

Two shots from the Bristol date of UK tour of May 2001: Left: Ed on keyboards/knobs and John doing what he does best!; Right: Seaweed having a smoke...
