Anyone out there had a stop immediatly brake failure fault on your Passat? Mine is a w8 4 motion and is riding a wrecker to the dealer We'll see what he says

im hoping my 1.8T gti does well enough in the snow for me to not worry about this but if it doesnt I will be looking for a 4motion passat wagon. I am not interested in the w8 model. what years should i stay away from and did they make

like ian, i have always used a IR temp guage. It takes 10 seconds to get the 3 readings on each tire and you can tell what is going on. My hands don't have very good temp sensing since many of my nerves are shot

I have seen the chalk used too. Great if you just want a few revolutions. I guess I prefer the touch method because you can do it on any car any time with no special tools. Easy enough to just do a quick check at the gas station etc

I run the recommended tire pressure for <100mph and 1/2 total weight which is frt 30 & rear 28lbs. I don't have the car handy but they are the stock tire size. Remember that this is my wife's car so it is driven easy and it is all stock
