Dear collector of minerals, this amateur site aims to implement collection mineral specimen exchanges.

Please NOTE:
  1. I am NOT a mineral dealer (unfortunately, since I feel it as a learned  and pleasant job).
  2. The minerals I offer (see list on the left) are specimens that I can afford to remove from my collection to the purpose of enlarging the number of species I have.
  3. The most of my specimens were found in the classic Vesuvius area (Naples, Italy) before 1995, in which year it was (luckily) implemented the homonymous National Park, in which no mineral hunting and quarry excavations are allowed.

As for preparing exchanges, if you are possibly interested, please read carefully the following:
  1.   First, I will  give you all possible information concerning the specimen(s) of mine that  you feel of potential interest to you. In case the pictures and the text below are not sufficient, please ask more.
  2.   Second, let me know with analogous details (picture, etc.) the description of one specimen in my want list that you could be willing to give me in change of my material. If you have no such specimen, may be I can suggest you a commercial specimen on sale and the dealer who sells it. I require crystals of fair (it depends on the species) size, but never acicular or below 0.4 cm, on a rock of minimum size 8x8 cm or equivalent, better if larger. I don't mind of artificial cuts.
  3.  Finally, if it seems possible, we agree on a precise exchange hypothesis. In this case we should also guarantee that the specimens are reciprocally reserved for a time span.

How we can really perform the exchange?
Please read carefully:

  1. In case you and me can meet personally at some European Mineral Show (Munich, S. Marie aux Mines, Torino, Bologna…) or in case you have tourist or job reasons for visiting South Italy, we can exchange personally the specimens. I like better this way.
Clearly, this procedure still holds also in case a trustee of yours and/or one of mine can meet.
  2. Of course, an exchange could be made by registered mail (after point iii. was set).
Sorry, due to previous experiences I am not willing to send as first my specimens. Of course, I cannot  blame you if  you have the same opinion. In fact, we are not going to exchange chunks of sandstone,  and, besides, you don't like to waste time and afford expensive parcel  expeditions just to discover that someone would like to move rubbish from its basement to your  collection!
Nevertheless, if you are so kind to trust me sending first your material by registered mail, I can only acknowledge the receiving  (after point iii. is set !!!) of good (= as described) material, and thus the final conclusion of an agreed exchange, by  sending to you  one additional good level specimen extra to the agreed  exchange. The definitive  choice of the  additional specimen would be up to me, but asking your  opinion previously.
Of course, if your material is not like you described it, I will send you back by registered mail.
