Neither can tethered downloads acquired from subscription music services like Napster or Rhapsody." In the interest of fairness, I'd like to point out that PlaysForSure DRM'ed files are also a non-starter when it comes to streaming from these new content lockers.. Music wrapped in certain types of digital rights management (DRM) technology -- such as Apple's Fairplay -- can't be streamed from these lockers.. The 64-Bit Windows Community Welcome to Extended64 | in Microsoft's Digital Locker As many of you have probably forgot about Microsoft’s Digital Locker (a new way to purchase software), I would like to share my thoughts with all of you.. I think Digital Locker has quite a ways to mature before it is ready for main stream use.. When someone thinks about buying software they have probably never heard of Digital Locker or Windows Marketplace.. Also in beta2, Users are still unable to login to Digital Locker or see any connection on Windows Marketplace that deals with performance ratings or what is to come.

Digital Locker uses Microsoft's own Passport authentication for account access, and relies on a small utility, Digital Locker Assistant, to handle downloads.. Digital Locker's content and back-end management is being provided by a pair of e-commerce companies, Minnesota-based Digital River and Nebraska-based eSellerate.
