some notes from Elizabeth’s great-niece, who lived with her own Grandmother, Elizabeth’s sister, some time in the 1940’s: Aunt Lizzie used to come and stay a while with Nanna - I had to share my bed with her and she would tell me stories - she had a permanently stiff index finger, I never did find out what happened to it

● some notes from George Charles’ granddaughter: My lovely Grandpa was George Davis and my Nana was May Stacey - they lived their later years in Worthing in West Sussex, but earlier in Norfolk, at Cromer I think - when my Nana had a stroke, she was survived by my Grandpa, who was a community stalwart who helped out the neighbours for years before he died - he shared his home with a Dutch lady called Rick and they were a happy couple

● I used to know only little about May but had a breakthrough in the last few weeks which has opened up her past - she was the daughter of Harry Stacey and Lillian Terry - she had a twin, Rose, who died aged just 14 months or so - and she had older brothers, Arthur, Frank and Harry - Rose and May were born just after the 1911 census, in 1913, which is why she doesn't feature - but baptism records link her to Lillian Terry and allowed me to make the link - I half remembered the name Lillian from family stories - the family was based in Godstone ● nothing more is known about May Stacey
