bowl given at Samuel Mitton’s great-niece’s christening · the inscription
reads “Ann 26 April 1935 From Uncle Sam” · he got the date
wrong, 26th instead of 25th, and spelt the name without
an “e” |
a silver rose
bowl inscribed to celebrate Samuel Mitton and Jane
Ann's 60th wedding anniversary, 14 AUG 1937, signed by members of the London
Guild of Silversmiths · Samuel Mitton had obviously lifted himself into this professional
group from his pawn shops · unfortunately
Jane Ann died a week before |
