I was a Kid we that is the riff-raff of Kirk Deighton
got on the bus to Knarsborough changed buses there and
went to Starbeck Baths. We
caught the train back to Knarsborough after
swimming it cost 2d the we had to wait for half an hour for the bus back to Wetherby. While
we waited we baught a Hovis
penny Loaf and a knob of butter and finished off with a Penny Lolly home made ta the corner shop. They were happy days (also added to

originally thought that this might be ANN FRANCES SMITH
DURHAM, CHARLES JACOB DURHAM but they died
1876 and 1870, so it can’t be · it may
therefore be JANE ANN CHIVERS SMITH, JAMES THOMAS SMITH Henrietta
Sarah’s aunt and uncle, both of whom lived into the 20th century · a dating
exercise has given: double breasted jacket, wide lapel, high collar make the
photo 1890's; high neckline, brooch, hair tied up, hat, lots of frills on the
dress make it 1885-8 |
