The Officio Assassinorum is the central organising arm of the High Lords of Terra for the creation and deployment of various assassins. Only when the situation is the most delicate are they called upon, such as when a powerful enemy leader is caught out in the open, or when a planetary governor oversteps his authority. There are several types of assassins, each residing in 'temples.' These include:

 

These temples are located on Holy Terra itself, but their actual locations are kept well hidden from the enemy. Each of the temples specialises in a different method of murder, ranging from sniping to mad, frenzied killing sprees. They may join any Imperial Army, including the Space Marines, Imperial Guard, and the Adepta Sororitas (Sisters of Battle), but may not join any squad in particular, as they work best alone.
